What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) means Universal life energy in Japanese. Reiki is a form of vibrational therapy developed in Japan in the early twentieth century and is considered the most gentle and practical healing therapy in the world. It is the least intrusive and most relaxing of the complementary healing practices and involves the light laying on of hands. The practitioner provides the channel for the life force energy.

As this subtle energy flows into a client’s body it assists in opening and balancing the body’s energy centers (chakras). When the chakras are operating in balance, the body’s natural ability to self-heal is restored. Reiki restores the flow of energy in the body so that our immune system can function at an optimal level enhancing and accelerating healing.

How can Reiki help me?

Reiki can help us to return to balanced functioning on every level – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

Although balance can mean different things in different circumstances it typically brings rapid stress reduction and relief from pain and anxiety.  Those receiving Reiki often report increased energy and vitality, improved sleep and digestion, and a greater sense of well-being.

Reiki has helped people with chronic pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, depression, trauma, multiple sclerosis, recovery from stroke, and many other health imbalances.

Reiki is used to support conventional medical care, hastening recovery time from surgery and reducing side effects of chemotherapy. Reiki can enable patients to tolerate needed medication and often results in decreasing the medication dosage.

People that consider themselves to be in good health use Reiki to manage stress and strengthen well-being, finding new levels of self-confidence and self-acceptance, more harmony in family relationships, and a deeper sense of peace and spirituality.
